Are there guided workshops at CRASP?

There are no guided workshops at CRASP at the moment, but do not worry if you arrive without an idea. We have project and inspirational booklets and some lovely helpers who will help you get comfy and start your journey within your chosen craft.

Is booking my place free?

Yes, CRASP is completely free and is funded by the Student Experience Team at the University of Edinburgh. Because of that (and our limited space) we can only accept University of Edinburgh Students.

What do I have to bring?

It depends. We would recommend having a look at the available projects on our website. If you choose to do a project from scratch, we will provide all the materials, however if you wish to choose to recycle/customise something you own, please bring that along and we will help you with it.

I have an idea for a new project. Can I bring that in?

You are more than welcome to bring in any new project/activity you like (and that cannot be found in our project list). If you are happy to share that with other participants, even better. At this point, since CRASP only runs for a month, we might not have enough time to add it to the regular projects but we will definitely consider it if CRASP reopens in the future.

Can I bring my friend?

If they are also students/staff of the University of Edinburgh then absolutely! The more the merrier.

How many time slots should I choose?

If you just want to have a look and see if you like CRASP, you’re absolutely fine booking a 1 hour long slot, however If you’ve seen a project that you like in the available projects sections, have a look at the recommended time for each of them and that will give you a good idea about how long it will take to complete it.

Can I finish my project at home?

You are more than welcomed to take your project home, however we ask all participants to only use supplies and project booklets that we provided in the space so any unused parts/portions could later be used by someone else. Sharing is caring. :)

Can I earn money with CRASP?

Yes you can. We are looking for 5 people who attended the space to give us an interview about their experiences for a small amount of compensation. Please talk to one of our volunteers or email me (hey, I’m Odett) at Odett@crasp.co.uk for further information.
